CPSA Council Election Town Hall - Calgary

The College of Physicians & Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA) is the regulator for all physicians and surgeons in the province and is governed by theHealth Professions Act. Our role is to protect the public by issuing practice permits to those who meet educational and training criteria, hold Alberta physicians to ethical and medical practice standards, and investigate and resolve physician-related complaints. CPSA also ensures the safety and quality of medical and diagnostic testing services in Alberta through an independent accreditation program.

Alberta physicians and surgeons are invited to join members of CPSA Executive and Council for a town hall-style meeting and reception, to learn more about the upcoming CPSA Council Election. This session is ideal for those interested in running for CPSA Council, but want more information before seeking nomination.
You’ll have the opportunity to meet and mingle with current CPSA Councillors, ask questions and learn more about the vital role CPSA Council plays in leading the medical profession. Through a short presentation and Q&A session, we will discuss:
<UL>
<LI>         the responsibilities of being a member of Council;</LI>
<LI>         eligibility criteria for potential new members;</LI>
<LI>         the nomination process and deadline; and</LI>
<LI>         the voting process and deadline.</LI>
</UL>
