Overview
Iconic Maritime songs from Lennie Gallant, the Rankin Family, Tara MacLean and Classified will be reimagined and brought to life by the Bayfield String Quartet, interspersed with stories about the songs and anecdotes about how and why they were created from Camron MacDuffee. Expect to experience some of your favourite songs in a whole new way!
About Bayfield String Quartet:
The Bayfield String Quartet, known for their vibrant and engaging performances, is a dynamic ensemble that brings a fresh perspective to the string quartet tradition. Comprising four exceptional musicians—Karen Graves (violin), Kinley Dowling (violin), Jeffrey Bazett-Jones (viola), and Natalie Williams Calhoun (cello)—the quartet has quickly established itself in Charlottetown as one of the most compelling ensembles on the local chamber music scene. Each member of the Bayfield String Quartet brings a wealth of experience and individual artistry to the group. Together, they create a harmonious blend of voices that captivates audiences with its depth, clarity, and emotional power.
Formed in 2024, the Bayfield String Quartet has been busy performing for the Candlelight concert series, sharing intimate house concerts and creating new shows to present on Prince Edward Island and beyond. Their performances are marked by their attention to detail, commitment to innovation, and the palpable chemistry between the musicians.
About Cameron MacDuffee:
Cameron is an actor, musician. composer and playwright who lives on Epikwetk (Prince Edward Island). As an actor and musician he was worked all across Canada including several seasons at the Shaw and Charlottetown Festivals. In the past five years he has created several shows with his company Farmgate Theatre including The Good Time Radio Variety Show, The Road to Belong and Behold. Previous to that he co-created and produced a number of projects with his own companies – The Department of Everything and Players By Nature – including The Land Between (Book and Music), richardthesecond (producer, nominated for six Dora awards), Turtle Island (producer), Juvenile Delinquent Wood (Book and Music), Sooke Hills: The Musical (Music) and The Stump Tour (Music)- which toured North America with a 10,000 pound tree stump raising awareness of the destruction of Canada’s Temperate Rainforest.
