DARK SKIES: Geminids Meteor Shower 2025

Join us for a night under the stars at Beaver Creek Conservation Area with Living Sky Guy Tim Yaworski and Meewasin. As twilight fades, the true dark sky will reveal itself.

The Geminids Meteor Shower is one of the most reliable and active annual meteor showers visible from Earth. Known for their consistent and impressive display, the Geminids are a favourite among stargazers and astronomers. 🌠

The Experience Our evening begins at 8:00 PM CST. The Meewasin team will share the history of Beaver Creek and what makes this rare habitat so special after dark. This is followed by a “Conversation about Astronomy” with Tim Yaworski, a member of the Royal Astronomical Society. Finally, we will journey out into the prairie to discover the night sky with a hot beverage of choice (coffee, tea, or hot chocolate).

The formal program concludes at 11:59 PM CST.

All proceeds from this tour support Meewasin’s conservation efforts in the river valley, making this a truly sustainable experience. 💖
