Open to Nonprofit organizations serving Kings Region, New Brunswick: A hands on workshop to enhance board governance practices

Board Governance Workshop Part 2: Kings Region

Registration is limited to 10 organizations and closes January 16th

  • Date: January 23, 2026
  • Time: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
  • Location: Sussex Village Office 1067 Main St, Sussex (entry at the back)

A hands-on, expert-led working session where organizations bring their key governance documents such as bylaws, board policies, succession plans, terms of reference, recruitment strategies, etc, and receive direct guidance to review, revise, and align them with best practices. This session emphasizes real-time problem solving, peer learning, and tangible progress on governance improvements. It is designed to complement the introductory session, but attendance to the intro session is not a mandatory prerequisite.

Schedule:
Morning:
Module 1: KSAO recruitment matrix, job descriptions, board code of conduct, recruitment plan
Module 2: Committee TORs & work plans
Afternoon:
Module 3: ED evaluations & Board evaluations
Module 4: Risk Identification & Mitigation Strategies

Participants should bring a copy of the following documents from their organization:(If you do not have all of these, you will have time to create them in the workshop)
- bylaws- board recruitment & orientation documents if you have any developed (which could include a KSAO matrix, job descriptions, code of conduct, recruitment plan, succession plan)- committee Terms Of References and work plans- ED evaluation tool and board evaluation tool- Risk assessment policy and tool

The series is delivered by Sari Labelle, who has worked with more than 100 organizations across Alberta, Ontario, Quebec, the Atlantic provinces and internationally, amassing a wealth of expertise in managing non-profit organizations and programs.

Tickets cost $15 per perosn to cover lunch

Please note that due to confidentiality during discussions, these sessions are not recorded, however materials, slides, and work sheets will be provided.
