Demystifying Sourdough: A 2-Day Baking Workshop
Overview
Sourdough doesn’t have to be intimidating. Join us for Demystifying Sourdough, a relaxed, hands-on two-day workshop designed to help you understand the fundamentals of sourdough baking — from starter care to shaping and baking beautiful loaves at home.
Led by Amanda Kilborn, artisanal baker and owner of Forest and Food Fixation, this workshop blends practical instruction with approachable theory. Amanda brings years of professional baking experience and a passion for traditional techniques, supplying many local shops with her breads and baked goods.
Over two sessions, you’ll learn:
- How sourdough works (and why)
- How to maintain and use a sourdough starter
- Mixing, shaping, and baking techniques
- How to troubleshoot common sourdough challenges
All supplies are included. Participants will take home a freshly baked loaf and a sourdough starter to continue baking at home.
Workshop Schedule
Each workshop includes 6 hours of instruction over two days: Friday night from 6-8pm and then Saturday morning from 9am-1pm. Choose the January 16-17th weekend or the January 30-31st weekend to best suit your schedule.
Two weekends are available to choose from right now, with the possibility of additional classes being added if classes fill up.
Registration and refunds are available up to 2 days before the class start date. A minimum of 5 participants must register for the class to go forward.
