Determining & Prioritizing Classroom Needs
Overview
This online learning series guides participants through an inclusive, needs-based planning process. We will learn how to move from strength-based understanding of learners to the design of universal classroom structures, layered supports, and competency-based IEP goals—while using AI as a tool to support reflection, pattern-finding, and instructional design.
Rather than using AI to automate decisions, this series positions AI as a thinking partner (named Penny) that helps reduce cognitive load, surface patterns, and generate inclusive design options—while professional judgment, relationships, and context remain central.
This series is ideal for those who want to build inclusive classroom communities that reduce barriers, support diverse learners, and strengthen both universal practices and individual supports.
Session 2: Mar 2, 2026
Participants will learn how to identify instructional and environmental needs based on barriers to access, rather than student compliance or behavior. The session emphasizes prioritizing needs that have a high impact on the entire classroom community. AI is used to support reflection and prioritization.
