Direct Observation Group Supervision

Direct Observation Group Supervision

By Peak Resilience Counselling
Online event

Overview

We welcome all levels of psychotherapists including students to bring audio or video recordings of sessions to get transformational feedback

What is “direct observation” clinical supervision?

All therapists go through a licensing process in order to promote their ethical and effective care to the public.

In order to receive (and maintain) their license, mental health practitioners must have a supervisor and colleagues directly observe their therapy with clients. Counsellors will go through a process of informing clients about counselling in general, as well as the risks and benefits of recording sessions.

In the informed consent process, clients will be made aware of who will be seeing their video recording. They can deny consent at any part of the process, with no impact to their therapy relationship or experience.

How does this group work?

This group is for mental health practitioners in Canada who are post-practicum/pre-license or in their first 2 years of licensed practice.

Limit of 4 people, and each person will receive:

  1. 1 hour direct observation
  2. 3 hours group supervision (this is subject to change depending on the group size)

Participants must complete a short pre and post assignment to integrate learning.

Pre-assignment required so please sign up the week before to receive the information.

If you are unable to pay the full fee, we can discuss payment plans or discounts. Email admin@peak-resilience.com if you have questions.
