Unlocking the Power of Stress Management: A Path to Personal and Professional Success
Based on my observation and personal experience, the daily stresses that we experience affect our happiness, health, wealth, productivity and ultimately our relationships. Have you noticed that sometimes we are in an environment with uninterrupted background noise that we don’t even notice until it stops?!! Suddenly we are relieved and become aware it. That is how stress influences every aspect of our life and most of us are not even aware of it.
According to a 2024 Gallup survey,
- 20 % of the world’s employees experience daily loneliness and it is highest for fully remote workers.
- In Canada and the USA, 49 % of workers experience stress [knowingly] on a daily basis and it is higher among women 54 %; managers 53 % and people below the age of 35 - 59%.
On the other hand Dr. Deepak Chopra, a prominent doctor in both modern and Ayurvedic medicine and many others say that 95 % of our illnesses are the result of mishandled stresses in our lives. There have been numerous studies on the effect of stress on mental health of people in the workplace and beyond, affecting productivity and the quality of our lives. All of these findings struck a chord with me, especially in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, which brought unprecedented levels of stress into our lives. Witnessing the havoc it wreaked, I was inspired to take action. I developed a Stress Management Program aimed at helping ordinary people, professionals and corporate teams to handle everyday stresses proactively.
