Fairfield Productions Film Showcase: The Genesis of the New Film Idiom
Overview
Lyon, France, 1895. After inventing what most consider to be the first motion picture camera, le cinematographe, brothers Auguste and Louis Lumiere pointed their camera at their workers as they left the Lumiere factory. In 2026, 131 years after the first moving images were cranked onto nitrate, Fairfield Productions will point their camera at you, the audiences of today, and you will witness cinema in as revolutionary a form as those workers in Lyon did more than a century ago.
Cinematic history has been cleaved in twain, before Fairfield Productions Film Showcase and after Fairfield Productions Film Showcase. And thus Fairfield Productions has devoted their infinitesimally small lives to commanding the history of cinema to new frontiers. Will you accept the weight of all cinematic history upon your stalwart shoulders , or let the weight of your own hesitation crush you like Atlas beneath the Earth?
