Workshop

Together we will discover the magic of drumming and layering simple rhythms on the djembe (African drum), shakers, wooden blocks and more. Experience the excitement in a group as we learn and create rhythms that fit together to make a rhythmic song. Drums and percussive instruments will be supplied. Be prepared to have fun and lots of smiles.

Bio

Heather Lance comes with over 20 years of drumming experience. She has been the director of "big baNG", a group of grades 8-12 drummers at North Grenville District High School in Kemptville for the past 13 years. This group performs traditional West African rhythms on traditional instruments. Heather graduated from the University of Ottawa with a Bachelor of Music in 2003 and a Bachelor of Education in Instrumental Music in 2004. She was introduced to the magic of West African drumming in 2003. Her journey continues...
