This micro-certification course will deepen your knowledge and build your skills around how to work with the Flourishing Business Model Canvas to create flourishing organizations and communities. A collaboration between #ChangeTheNow at Georgian College, EIT-Climate-KIC, and Flourishing Startups, participants will experience a deep-dive in the Flourishing Startup Method (FSM) to leverage the Flourishing Business Canvas (FBC) to create early stage models that create value for people, planet and profit.
The flourishing-centred business modeling movement has a global business, government, and academic following. This Micro-Certificate offered through Georgian College - Canada's first Ashoka U Changemaker College - responds to the call from trainers and leaders who are stewarding community, environmental and economic change through new types of flourishing entrepreneurial business models.
At the end of this program, participants will have a deep experiential and practice-based understanding of the core concepts, tools and approaches that enable the design of flourishing business models.

- Access to the Flourishing Enterprise Innovation Business Model Toolkit
- Opportunities to develop coaching and facilitation skills to support groups designing or work on Flourishing Business Models and Flourishing Communities

You are able to sign up for as many modules as you want. You are able to complete only Module 1 or modules 1 & 2, etc. You will find different purchasing options available when you sign up. The program is designed to build on the previous module and so you will be required to start with module 1.
You will not receive a micro certificate if you have not completed all 4 modules. The micro certificate is awarded on completion and submission of all 4 modules and all module required deliverables. You will however receive a completion certificate for the modules that you do complete successfully
Refunds are possible only excluding Eventbrite fee (conditions applied)
For Modules 1,2,3- If you cannot complete a module that you have started we will offer you an opportunity to complete this module in the next course. If you cannot attend a module that you have paid for but the module has not yet started then you get a 100% refund (excluding EventBrite fee's).
If you are unable to attend module 4 virtual you will not bable to complete this module in the next course. If you cancel your participation in this module before the start of module 3 then you will receive a 90% refund excluding Eventbrite fees.
If you cancel your participation in the virtual module 4 before the start of module 3 then a 90% refund will be applicable (excluding additional Eventbrite booking fees). If you cancel virtual module 4 after module 3 begins, then a 70% refund will be applicable(excluding Eventbrite fee)
If you are unable to attend module 4 you will not automatically be able to complete this module in the next course, an evaluation by the programs team will be required.
If you cancel your participation in the in-person module 4 before the start of module 3 then you receive an 80% refund (excluding additional Eventbrite booking fees). If you cancel virtual module 4 after module 3 begins then a 40% refund is applicable (excluding Eventbrite booking fee)
You may decide that you want to participate in more of the program than you initially purchased. This is no problem. We will send participants a link to purchase a place in the upcoming module towards the end of the module you are completing.
Participants are required to attend a minimum of 80% of all live virtual module sessions as well as submit the module deliverable in order to continue on to the next module. Even though sessions are recorded much of the learning takes place in experiential group activities(which are not recorded)
No, we do not require you to have a background or experience in business model design to do this program. Please note however that this program is designed only for individuals that support start-ups, teach entrepreneurship, or support community organizations.
Unfortunately this training is not designed to support entrepreneurs or startups. It is a train-the-trainer designed for individuals that support start-ups, teach entrepreneurship or support community organizations starting something new.
