Fueling Performance: Understanding Eating Disorders in Athletes

Join a Registered Psychologist (Lindsay Piper at Vault Psychology) and Registered Dietitian (Madeline Herbers at Herbers Nutrition Consulting) for an engaging, evidence-based presentation on eating disorders and healthy fueling in sport. This session explores how eating disorders and disordered eating show up in athletic environments, the unique risk factors athletes face, and the early warning signs that often go unnoticed. We’ll discuss the vital role coaches, teammates, support staff, and parents play in creating a supportive and safe sport culture.

From the nutrition side, attendees will learn the responsibilities of a sports performance dietitian, the foundational role of nutrition in athletic performance, and how positive food language can shift team culture. We’ll also break down common sports-nutrition myths that can impact both performance and well-being.

This presentation equips sport professionals, parents, and athletes with practical tools to recognize concerns, foster healthier environments, and support athletes in fueling both their performance and their long-term health.

All participants that attend will be able to enter for some amazing door prizes & raffles :)
