Grief as a doorway to wholeness: A guided workshop
Overview
Most of us carry more grief than we realize — grief from our families, our childhoods, our relationships, our migrations, our losses, and from living through a time of global uncertainty. It might show up as anger, sadness, numbness, apathy and more.
But we’re rarely given a safe space to feel it, understand it, or let it move through us.
This guided workshop is an invitation to gently meet the grief you carry and let it transform you.
We live in a culture that wants grief to be linear, private, and short-lived. Our collective inability to face grief is one of the hidden engines of the numerous crises we see around us- climate change, war & more. When we don’t metabolise grief, we become fractured and angry, numb to the deeper pain driving us. We chase power, status, distractions — anything not to feel the pain. And those patterns ripple outward into the systems we build.
This workshop rejects those patterns. By giving people tools rather than prescriptions, we help them cultivate resilience, depth, and the ability to rejoin life fully — not because the loss has vanished, but because grief and vitality can share the same home.
The workshop is led by Inara Furnari O Mara, a counselor, grief worker and death doula. Inara has more than a decade of experience helping people meet grief and mortality with dignity and peace. It might sound morbid, but it’s the opposite; it’s profoundly life-giving. This session will help you understand how grief lives in the body, how to work with it safely, and how metabolising grief can open the door to clarity, resilience, and a deeper sense of wholeness.
Your co-host for the evening will be Akhil Puri, an ex-climate tech entrepreneur who now runs a think tank dedicated to addressing the Metacrisis and usher in planetary flourishing.
This is not intended to be a heavy or overwhelming session. This will be a warm, grounded, trauma-informed space where you can move at your own pace.
As the year comes to a close, we hope you’ll join us in letting go of what no longer serves you. These times call for great transformation. What better way to bring in a new year and begin that process with ourselves?
In This Workshop, You Will Explore:
- What grief actually is (and the many forms it takes)
- How grief accumulates and expresses itself in our lives
- Techniques for feeling grief safely without being overwhelmed
- Practices to release the emotional weight you’ve been carrying
- How grief, when processed, becomes strength and clarity
The session will be a mixture of theory, live practice, and community sharing.
