Guided Hike to Black Rock Creek Canyon & Fire Smart trail loop 3.5BL
Overview
🐴 Guided Hike: Black Rock Creek & Firesmart Loop Discovery
Get ready to explore the stunning beauty and diversity of Alberta’s foothills! Join our guided hike on the Black Creek Canyon Loop and Fire Smart Trails.
This diverse 12 km loop has very little elevation gain, making it an accessible adventure for many. You will journey through:
- Dramatic canyon vistas and peaceful forested ridges.
- Rolling grasslands, often roamed by wild horses (if we're lucky!).
- Tranquil, bubbling creeks and sweeping panoramic views.
The Firesmart Trails add a unique element, featuring interpretive stops that showcase sustainable land stewardship and wildfire safety. Whether you seek stunning scenery, photography, or a chance for discovery, this adventure promises a memorable day out in nature with a fascinating story to tell.
Prepare for Adventure: Expect cold and snow—please dress warmly in layers and wear appropriate footwear. I will supply traction aids or snow shoes if conditions require them.
Hiking time is variable depending on the group. There is always plenty of time for lunch, photos and discussion. The end time in Eventbrite is just an estimate.
