Guided Ice Walk Hoodoo Creek - Nordegg area (4IS)

Guided Ice Walk Hoodoo Creek - Nordegg area (4IS)

By Coaching with Lucinda

Overview

Following a rocky creek bed to check out some cool Hoodoo formations and continuing to the first cave.

Join us for a dynamic, intermediate-level hike along the stunning Abraham Lake creek bed!

This adventure offers breathtaking views looking back at the lake as we explore the unique geology of the area. We'll hike to the incredible Hoodoos and then continue to the First Cave.

  • Distance: Approximately 5.2 km total (round trip).
  • Elevation: About 318 m of elevation gain (some variability possible).
  • Difficulty: Suitable for the adventurous, fit intermediate hiker who is comfortable walking on a rocky creek bed.

Your professional guide will be there the entire way to offer a helping hand. The section ascending to the cave is steep, and this portion is conditional based on trail safety. Going inside the cave is optional, but if you choose to explore, please remember to bring a headlamp or flashlight!

Prepare for Adventure: Expect cold and snow—please dress warmly in layers and wear appropriate footwear. I will supply traction aids or snow shoes if conditions require them.

Hiking time is variable depending on the group. There is always plenty of time for lunch, photos and discussion. The end time in Eventbrite is just an estimate.
