Gynaecological & First Trimester Imaging: Setting the Standard in 2026
Overview
Gynaecological & First Trimester Imaging: Setting the Standard in 2026 is dedicated to advancing excellence in gynaecologic and early pregnancy imaging. Designed for sonographers, radiologists, obstetricians, gynaecologists, and other healthcare professionals, this program integrates live demonstrations, evidence-based lectures, and interactive case discussions to enhance diagnostic precision and clinical confidence. Across all sessions, participants will benefit from interactive Q&A panels, collaborative discussions, and live scanning led by our esteemed faculty.
Day One will discuss foundational to advanced gynecological imaging techniques and emerging guidelines. Dr Wendy van Buren, an invited international guest speaker will focus on endometriosis from basic to advanced imaging concerns. This will be enhanced by a live scan session. We will conclude with a “Hot Topics” update featuring fibroids, endometrial assessment, polycystic ovarian morphology (PCOM), dysfunctional uterine bleeding, and social factors that influence imaging practice.
Day Two explores the Pelvic Floor, Perineum, and O-RADS (Ovarian-Adnexal Reporting and Data System). We are fortunate to have international guest speaker Dr. Aly Youssef to present ultrasound of pelvic floor pathologies. Participants will review optimal scanning approaches, interpretation of pelvic pain presentations, and infertility-related imaging, followed by an applied case-based O-RADS workshop highlighting standardized reporting and malignancy risk stratification.
Day Three focuses on First Trimester Imaging, offering live scan demonstrations from 11–14 weeks, updates on the new SRU Lexicon, and practical sessions on twin gestations and early pregnancy complications. Dr. Fred Ushakow, our esteemed international guest speaker, will focus on fetal anomalies in this time period. Psychosocial aspects of early pregnancy loss will also be addressed, alongside an engaging “Imaging Jeopardy” session designed to consolidate key learnings.
Accreditation
This program is designed to meet the accreditation requirements for the Royal College Maintenance of Certification (Section 1 – Group Learning Activity) and the College of Family Physicians of Canada Mainpro+ Certified Activity.
Learning Goals
By the end of this series, participants will be better equipped to apply the latest imaging standards, integrate guideline-driven reporting, and optimize diagnostic accuracy in gynecologic and first-trimester care.
