Description

Holding Difficult Conversations: Part 2

YOU CAN ATTEND EVEN IF YOU COULDN'T MAKE IT TO PART 1

ZOOM VIDEO CONFERENCE SESSION - (Link will be sent via email to all participants)

We can all feel when a difficult conversation is brewing. Whether it is a personal conversation or a professional one, our lives are improved, our relationships strengthened, and our careers steadied when we have the skills and the courage to initiate and navigate difficult conversations. In this follow-up session to Part 1, held on April 2, you will learn about how to lead and remain present in difficult conversations. In this session, we will focus on using “I statements” and we will practice difficult conversations in small groups. In this session, we will hone our ability to engage in difficult conversations with courage, honesty, and compassion. While it is useful to have attended Part 1, all students are welcome to join us.

Facilitator: Megan Webster, B.A.H., B.Ed, M.A., and Ph.D

Megan is an executive coach, teacher educator, and professional development (PD) consultant. In partnership with scholars at Vanderbilt University and the University of Washington, Megan supported two major urban school districts in the U.S. who aimed to radically improve instruction in their districts. Megan now coaches consultants, principals, and educational leaders in school boards across Quebec. In recognition for her work as a teacher, she was awarded the Prime Minister’s Teaching Award. Megan brings great energy, humor, passion, and rigor to the work before her; participants leave sessions with her empowered and ready for action.
