How to Adopt AI for Christian Nonprofits: A Strategy Workshop

Overview

Learn to "Conquer Taller Mountains" with AI, overcoming limitations of time, money, and expertise, using Scripture-anchored frameworks.

AI promises infinite efficiency, and for Christian nonprofits the question is both what can be done and what should be done?

This live, interactive workshop equips Executive Directors, Pastors, Board Members, and Functional Leaders with a calm, theological approach to AI. You will learn how to look past the "magic" to understand how AI actually works, and how to lead your organization to use it faithfully: augmenting your people without abdicating your wisdom.

This session focuses on organizational clarity and leadership decision-making. For hands-on, practical skills your staff can use immediately, see our companion session, How to Use AI in Your Work: A Practical Skills Workshop for Christian Nonprofits.

The Problem: The Mission is Big, but Capacity is Limited

Most nonprofits feel limited by three things: Money, Time, or Expertise. Meanwhile, your organization is likely running on legacy processes, "side-of-desk" workarounds, and disconnected data silos.

AI offers a way to break through these ceilings, turning months of work into minutes and freeing your staff for deep ministry. But without a clear strategy, leaders risk drifting into:

  • Abdication: Letting algorithms make decisions that belong to humans.
  • Distraction: Chasing tools that don't align with your mission.
  • Fear: Ignoring technology because the risks seem too high.

The Solution: Discernment Before Adoption

We believe that thinking rightly about AI comes before building anything.

In this workshop, we move beyond "prompting tips" to focus on Organizational Strategy. We use the Augment, Automate, Abdicate Framework to help you decide exactly where AI fits in your ministry, and where it doesn't.

What You Will Learn

We will work through a practical Strategy Map together during the session.

You will learn to:

  • Demystify the Tech: Understand that AI is a "next-word predictor" based on the internet: it can describe truth, but cannot hold truth.
  • Conquer Taller Mountains: Identify where AI can overcome your specific limitations in money, time, and expertise.
  • Augment vs. Abdicate: Apply a clear framework to ensure you are automating tasks, not abdicating spiritual or moral responsibility.
  • Steward Authority: Learn how to lead AI adoption as an act of "subduing the earth" (Genesis 1:28) while remaining "wise as serpents and innocent as doves" (Matthew 10:16).

Who This Is For

This session is designed for decision-makers who set the culture and policy for their organization:

  • Executive Directors & Senior Pastors
  • Board Members
  • Functional Leaders (Ops, HR, Comms)

If you are looking for practical skills your staff can use in their day-to-day work, see our companion session: How to Use AI in Your Work, our hands-on workshop for individuals and teams.

Tangible Outcomes

By the end of this 90-minute workshop, you will leave with:

  • ✅ A Completed AI Strategy Map identifying your organization's top opportunities and red lines.
  • Clarity on Governance: A framework for when to say "Yes," "No," and "Not yet."
  • Access to Slides & Recording to help you facilitate this conversation with your own board or team.
