Event description

Description

Is 2018 the year you finally start podcasting? Great! We’re here to help.

This four-hour workshop will help you refine your idea, figure out the necessary resources, and sort out the technical side of things to get your podcast out of your head and into the ears of the people you want to reach.

This workshop is for anyone who has been considering a podcast as a way to serve a community, share expertise or shine a light on interesting people. It will be particularly useful if you are considering a podcast as part of the marketing mix for yourself, your business or an organization you’re involved in.

Everyone who registers will receive a planning tool to fill out in advance, which will be the basis for our work together.

The course will be taught by Meg Wilcox, who teaches journalism at Mount Royal University's School of Communication, where she developed the school's first podcasting course. She has helped make great audio for CBC, CKUA, Pacific Content and the Banff Centre, among others.

She will be assisted by Kyle Marshall, creator of Media Lab YYC, a studio for people who want help creating great audio or video. Kyle has two podcasts: Assumptions and Whatever This Is.

Coffee and snacks will be provided. Doors open at 8 a.m. Instruction begins promptly at 8:30 a.m.
