Human Sound Party
Overview
Join me and a small group for a playful two-hour exploration in creating soundscapes together. Using only our voices, we will build immersive sound worlds together. I’ll guide us through it, drawing on my bag of tricks from my community-theatre days.
If you’ve ever been in a choir (or listened to one), you know how human voices resonate—how the vibrations can ripple through your own body and the space around you. We’ll play with that feeling and explore different ideas and emotions using simple sounds our bodies can make. To help us stay out of “logical brain” mode, we’ll keep actual talking to a minimum. (There will be a separate space available if you need a break or want to chat.)
No experience needed, no equipment required. It’s free, it’s experimental, and ideally it’ll be a lot of fun. Other potentials include cathartic and/or silly. We won’t know until we try. Come with curiosity and a sense of humor!
I think to make this work we will need 6-8 people so this date is tentative, based on who's interested & available. If Friday evening isn't convenient, sometime Saturday January 10 or Sunday January 11 could also work. So if you're interested but Jan 9th isn't good, please DM me and let me know when is!
About me: I’m a middle-age arts administrator who used to work in community arts and misses making stuff with people. I’m relatively harmless. Please ask if you want more details about me or this idea!
