Overview

Service providers will engage in hands-on case management practice as they learn about human trafficking in Alberta.

Service providers from various industries including law enforcement, healthcare, social services, government, and community-based organizations are welcome to attend the free, two-hour training Human Trafficking 101: Service Provider Essentials.

Each participant will have access to an industry-specific online case study to practice the progression of supporting a victim or survivor. Apply your learning by:

  • completing an intake
  • completing a needs assessment
  • considering your client's barriers
  • identifying trafficking in your client's story
  • considering trauma-informed interactions
  • referring your client for further supports

Please note that participants will need access to a desktop/laptop computer for this training in order to complete the case study activities. At this time, phones are non-compatible. Certificates of completion are available upon request following the training.

Classes will be hosted online via Zoom.

Your Eventbrite ticket will be emailed to you upon successful registration. The ticket will also be available in your Eventbrite account. Please open the ticket (.PDF file) as it contains the Zoom link for this training.

If you're a community member whose work or volunteer role does not include providing services to vulnerable persons, please register for Human Trafficking 101: Community Member Essentials.

Tickets by donation are encouraged, but if this is a barrier, this training can be accessed for free. Please reach out with any questions to info@actalberta.org
