Huron Chamber Workforce Roundtable
Overview
Workforce development, and particularly the shortage of qualified workers across multiple sectors, has clearly emerged as the number one barrier to economic growth in Huron County. With unemployment consistently low and labour force participation lagging behind provincial averages, employers face ongoing challenges in recruiting and retaining staff.
To help address this structural issue, the Huron Chamber of Commerce has established the Huron Chamber Workforce Roundtable—a new discussion forum connecting employers and organizations involved in or affected by workforce development in the region.
The Roundtable includes participants from across the local economy, including employers, business associations, educational institutions, workforce development agencies, and community organizations.
Participation is open to all employers and community partners with an interest in workforce issues.
The Roundtable meets virtually, typically once per month following the release of new labour market data. Sessions serve as open discussions for interpreting trends, exchanging updates, and exploring emerging issues. Attendance is optional and flexible, recognizing participants’ existing commitments.
