Implementing a Digital Twin of an Organization (DTO) in Manufacturing (CDN)
Overview
A practical, hands-on virtual workshop on using DTO modeling to drive better resource planning, process efficiencies, operational costing, and profitability.
Gartner defines a Digital Twin of the Organization (DTO) as:
"a dynamic software model of any organization that relies on operational and contextual data to understand how an organization operationalizes its business model, connects with its current state, responds to changes, deploys resources, and delivers customer value."
This four x ½ day virtual workshop, developed with funding support from NGen (the organization leading Canada’s Global Innovation Cluster for Advanced Manufacturing), equips manufacturers with proven methods to design, implement, and leverage DTOs. The workshop uses real-world manufacturing examples and an interactive case study to provide participants with actionable insights for optimizing processes and improving profitability.
Key Learning Objectives
- Apply DTO techniques to improve asset and labor utilization, resource planning, costing and operational budgeting.
- Explore Canadian-developed DTO software Collaborative Business Planning (CBP) for visualizing business flows and running “what-if” scenarios.
- Learn how to model current operations and simulate future states to strengthen decision-making, profitability, and long-term resilience.
Who Should Attend and Why?
Ideal for manufacturing leaders and decision-makers, including:
- Production Managers – streamline resources, cut lead times, and reduce costs.
- Continuous Improvement Managers – embed process improvement and CI culture.
- Maintenance & Supply Chain Managers – align operations to support production efficiency.
- Financial Managers – enhance budgeting, costing, and profitability analysis.
- Strategic Planners – prepare for customer demands, disruptions, sustainability, and investments.
