IndigiTECH Mentorship Program – Cohort 8 Overview (Starting April 6th, 2026)

The IndigiTECH Mentorship Program is a guided, virtual community-centered initiative designed to advance the digital, entrepreneurial, and professional skills of First Nations, Inuit and Metis (FNMI) innovators, creators, and future technology leaders accross Canada. Cohort 8, launching April 6th, 2026, brings together emerging FNMI learners and professionals for a structured, culturally grounded 28-week mentorship and technical training program.

Program Purpose

The program supports participants in:

  • Developing technical and digital literacy skills
  • Strengthening leadership and entrepreneurial capabilities
  • Accessing experienced mentors in technology, design, business, and innovation
  • Building confidence to excel in digital careers or launch into virtual internship connection opportunities
  • Connecting with a supportive community of Indigenous peers and industry partners

What Cohort 8 Includes

  • One-on-one mentorship with program alumni and industry professionals
  • Workshops and training sessions focusing on digital skills, professional development, and innovation
  • Project-based learning, helping participants develop a resume, coverletter, and virtual portfolio
  • Networking events with FNMI leaders and tech industry partners
  • Culturally grounded support, honoring Indigenous knowledge systems and community values

Ideal Participants

Cohort 8 welcomes FNMI youth, early-career professionals, innovators, creators, and community members aged 16+ residing in Canada who are motivated to grow their digital skills or pursue opportunities in technology, entrepreneurship, or creative digital industries.
