Intro to Ninjutsu: Beginner
Overview
About this Workshop:
Recommended age: 13+
Ninjutsu training is inspired by the five elements of nature: 地水火風空 Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Void.
This beginner course is based on the element of Earth. This is the foundation of all training. Through practicing sword handling, footwork, hand signs, and basic movement, we work on finding stability and alignment in both body and mind. The goal is to maintain a calm, grounded condition that remains steady even in challenging environments.
Wear comfortable clothes. Bring water.
What is Ninjutsu?
Ninjutsu is the traditional survival art once used by shinobi—specialists in intelligence gathering and combat in old Japan.
Many people only associate Ninjutsu with flashy fighting techniques because of anime and pop culture. In reality, it is a wide-ranging set of knowledge and skills focused on wartime survival, not just combat.
