Overview

Empowering participants to recognize and effectively respond to family violence in their places of work or communities.

This introductory workshop is ideal for service providers and front-line agency staff who want to better understand the basics of family violence, or would like a refresher.

  • challenge family violence stereotypes and misconceptions
  • discuss the roles of power and control
  • develop effective responses to disclosures of family violence
  • recognize barriers to leaving or accessing supports
  • share community and provincial resources
