Board Governance Workshop
For Board Members and Senior Administrators
of Non-Profit Organizations

This introductory workshop provides a basic understanding of what is required for strong board governance. It is an essential workshop for first time directors as well as directors looking for a refresher.

At the end of the session, participants will be able to:

  • Define the role of your board
  • Identify the board model that works best for your organization
  • Identify and describe primary board responsibilities
  • Understand the roles of the Board and Executive Director/CEO         

Facilitator: Bhavana Varma is President & CEO of the United Way Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington. An experienced facilitator with over 20 years in the not for profit sector, she brings insight and learning from her work with boards and staff locally and nationally.

Agencies may register up to six board / senior staff members for Board Governance workshops.

Light refreshments will be available at 4:30pm.
