IPA All the Way: A Beer Tasting
Overview
When you’re looking through the shop for a craft beer, you’ll probably come across several labels from many different breweries that say, “IPA”. What is an IPA, though?
Its origins legendarily start with shipping beer from Great Britain to India, giving it the moniker “India Pale Ale”. However, IPA today is very far removed from that original style, with much more hop-forward characteristics and, in some cases, totally different flavours. In fact, some diverse styles, from Black IPA through Cold IPA to Milkshake IPA, challenge what it means to be an IPA in the first place!
Tonight at Metro Liquor, join us as we taste this interesting style of beer in many forms, and learn what it is that makes a beer an IPA.
