Joe Keithley presents Something Better Change
Overview
SOMETHING BETTER CHANGE
Film and live presentation with legendary Joe Keithley
Something Better Change is a provocative new film about D.O.A.'s Joe Keithley, Canada's roots rock rebel, activist, leader of the punk rock band D.O.A., and Burnaby City Councillor!
Joes got a reputation for delivering the straight goods with no BS: whether it's onstage leading the world-renowned punk band D.O.A. or playing his acoustic guitar at a protest on a picket line. The new film by Scott Crawford explores Keithley's unwavering quest for the truth in himself, his music, and his community. Joe will introduce the film in person and provide a post-film Q&A.
With a finely tuned sense of what's right and wrong, Joe Keithley has been fighting injustice and standing up for people for decades. He draws a lot of his perspective from his 45 years of experience in D.O.A. as the band has played over 4,000 shows on 5 different continents and in 50 countries. Fans and pundits alike have raved about his inspiring performances and self-effacing humour. Joe is also one of the first punk rockers in North America to hold a key place in local government, working on critical issues such as climate change, affordable housing, and citizen vulnerability.
