Join us at Felice Cafe for a night of merriment and mayhem as we celebrate the holidays with food and drinks, a book exchange, and bookish prizes!💚

Wrap your book blind-date style, zhuzh it up as much or as little as you want (ideas below), and get a new book of your own in a chaotic, fast-paced game of Dirty Santa. The only things you must include in your information are the genre and trigger warnings. You can choose a book of any genre, but the most popular ones will be fantasy, romantasy, romance, and dark romance.

📕Things you can include on your book:📕

• A short blurb (with no uniquely identifying features)
• Tropes and microtropes
• The first (or your favourite/most unhinged) sentence
• Things it made you feel as a reader (emojis are great for this!)
• Doodles, stickers, or other pretty things

🎁🌲 AGENDA🌲🎁

7:00 | Arrival

• Once you get checked in, grab a drink and snack, and mingle! There will be a head table (sorted by genre) to put your book on. Feel free to familiarize yourself with what’s available so it’s easier to decide later, and submit your ballot online to be eligible for prizes later.

8:00 | Book Exchange

• One at a time, people will go up and grab a book of their choice. Was the book you wanted already taken? Steal it! It’s be gay and do crime, babe. If you’ve had your book stolen from you, you can choose a new book or steal a different one.

9:00 | Unwrapping Books

• Once everyone is happy with the book they have, we’ll unwrap them together! Trades can be done amongst yourselves if you end up with a book you already have (clearly you know what you like!) or don’t want.

9:15 | Prizes

• Santa’s been keeping track of you all year and has oh-so-kindly passed his list on to me. Naughty or nice, there’s all kinds of prizes based on your reading habits and the book you brought tonight!

9:30 | Wrap Up

• That will be all folks! Dawn your winter gear and get home safe. If you want to stick to true Icelandic tradition, cozy up at home with a mug of hot chocolate and read your new book through the night!
