Kia Kadiri
Kia Kadiri has been an incredible influence in the Western Canadian Music scene for over 30 years, and currently runs the Sarah McLachlan school of music at Douglas College in New Westminster. She frequently plays with artists such as Ndidi Cascade, Mad Riddim, Famous Players Band, and Emotionz. For over 30 years she has performed at various Canadian jazz festivals, folk festivals, the Victoria Ska & Reggae Festival, and Hip-Hop events opening for artists such as K-RS 1, RA the rugged man, Myka9, Blackalicious, Digable Planets, Public Enemy, Abstract Rude, to name a few.
Emotionz
West coast rap pioneer and Canadian beatbox legend “Emotionz” is back on the International circuit. He has over 2500 performances throughout over 25 countries under his belt and recently received his first platinum and gold records for his work on Dani and Lizzy’s Dancing in the sky single. From song writing, breakdancing and graffiti workshops to bass music, rap and putting on events… Emotionz is a true ambassador of the arts.
Ndidi Cascade
Ndidi Cascade, who is of Nigerian-Italian-Irish-Canadian heritage, is a Vancouver born and based hip hop vocalist. She is also a songwriter, recording artist, educator, facilitator & curator. Ndidi has showcased her music across North America and internationally– from classrooms to stadiums, and her music has been featured on Much Music and MTV Canada. She has opened the stage for talents such as Wu-Tang Clan, Femi Kuti, Digable Planets, Cypress Hill, De La Soul and K'naan. Ndidi Cascade also facilitates and manages programs that use hip hop, spoken word and dance as a medium for healthy self-expression. She is the founder of the “Word, Sound & Power” and “Elementalz” education programs, which are designed to raise awareness of the origins of the hip hop movement. Ndidi currently tours with her groups Originz & Metaphor, showcasing interactive hip hop shows in elementary and high schools around British Columbia. Ndidi is also a music & cultural curator for Black Music Month Vancouver & Ethos Lab.
DJ Su Comandante Espinoza
DJ Su Comandante has evolved to be one of the most diverse DJs spinning a variety of reggae, dancehall, Latin and reggaeton (reggae infused with Latin influences) on the west coast of Canada. Now residing in Vancouver his music also mirrors his beliefs in revolution and social justice. Coming from El Salvador his Latin influences give a distintive uniqueness to his mixes.
