Wildlife Drawing Course (Online – Live on Zoom)
Bring Canada’s wildlife to life on paper in this inspiring 6-week drawing course.
From powerful birds of prey to graceful deer and other iconic Canadian wildlife, this live online course will guide you step-by-step through the techniques artists use to create realistic, expressive drawings.
You’ll learn the secrets of:
- Shading and tonal contrast
- Creating depth and perspective
- Drawing realistic fur, feathers, and form
- Making your drawings look confident and lifelike
This beginner to intermediate course is designed to be supportive and confidence-building, with live demonstrations, clear instruction, and plenty of opportunity to ask questions.

Teens and adults welcome. This is also a great family class—only one registration per household is required.

🎥 Class format:
This is an interactive class. Students are asked to begin with cameras on so the instructor can see your work and offer guidance. Participation and questions are encouraged. Microphones may remain unmuted unless background noise becomes disruptive.
Materials Needed
- 2B, 4B, and 6B pencils
- White pencil
- White wax chalk, white Sharpie, or white POSCA
- Ruler
- Eraser (fine tip or electric eraser recommended)
- Fine Sharpie or fine black ink pen
- Plain paper notebook
- Indenting tools
- Blending stubs

You do not need any prior drawing skills, the project will be you will be guided step by step.
