Overview

Join Men Recovering for an experiential workshop to learn practical self-regulation tools and resources to support you on the recovery path.

Men Recovering believes recovery is not a final destination but rather, a continuous journey that requires a level of focus, dedication, consistency, and recovery capital. Each time you show up for yourself and make a commitment to your recovery, you are growing in resilience and strength. Men Recovering wants to help you build upon the recovery capital you already have with more tools and resources to help you get on and stay on the recovery path.

Join Men Recovering for an experiential workshop series where we share accessible, self-regulation tools that you can put to use right away! Self-regulation tools like Acupressure Tapping and Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) Tapping play a crucial role in aiding recovery by addressing both the physiological and psychological aspects of the addiction experience.

Research shows EFT:

  • Improves impulse control
  • Reduces stress & cortisol levels
  • Reduces anxiety & depression
  • Enhances emotional regulation
  • Decreases cravings & withdrawal symptoms
  • Rebuilds reward pathways
  • Improves quality and duration of sleep
  • Builds capacity within the nervous system
  • Increases clarity & focus
  • Restores balance & homeostasis in the body
  • Has an accumulative effect (the more you Tap, the greater the benefit)

Participants will leave with a deeper understanding and learning of:

  • Impact of stress on addiction
  • Autonomic nervous system and body states
  • Addiction as learned/inherited safety strategies
  • 3 self-regulation tools
  • Accumulative effect of self-regulation tools
  • How to weave self-regulation tools into everyday life and schedule

Faciliated by Men Recovering's program team including Candace Fox, Psychosensory/somatic Practitioner & Recovery Coach (Provisional) as well as Marcel Petit, Recovery Mentor - the pair will be inviting participants to outside of their comfort zone and learn new evidence based tools and resources in a supportive environment.

This workshop series is open to anyone around the globe experiencing addiction and/or in any phase of recovery. We are also happy to welcome caregivers and loved ones of individuals experiencing addiction and/or in any phase of recovery. We would also highly encourage folks to join us for more than one webinar, while the content will not change dramatically between sessions, what you take in and learn will no doubt be different each time.

A note about cost/donations: We understand the need for addiction recovery resources at varied levels of costs to accommodate all individuals regardless of socioeconomic status. We are hosting this webinar series in a virtual group setting in order to deliver the content and tools in a time and cost efficient way. There is no set price associated with the webinar, only an opportunity for you to donate what you feel you are able to give at this time. Our only ask is that you respect the time and energy invested in putting this workshop together and please show up on time.

A note about refunds: If you register for the workshop but do not show up, we are not offering refunds and sessions will not be recorded (privacy reasons) and available later. If you register please make sure you can make the scheduled time or contact us to choose an alternative date. Please also include team@menrecovering.ca as a contact so all emails will make it to your inbox.

A note about participation: This is an experiential workshop, the more you engage and participate, the more you will get out of the session. Workshops will be hosted over the Zoom platform, you can download the Zoom app here. We highly recommend finding a quiet space with little distractions so you can be fully present for the 1.5 hour time slot.

Questions or concerns: We invite anyone who might have some questions before registering to feel free to connect with us directly at team@menrecovering.ca. You can also visit our website at www.menrecovering.ca.
