Description

The National Indigenous Media Arts Coalition (NIMAC) in partnership with the Independent Media Arts Alliance (IMAA) is pleased to announce the annual conference, June 12-15, 2018 in Saskatoon, SK. Entitled Listen, Witness, Transmit, it will feature roundtables, workshops, performances, exhibitions and screenings.

The conference will take place at Wanuskewin Heritage Park, approximately 15 minutes from the city, and at various Saskatoon programming venues, such as Aka Artist Run Center and Paved Arts.

Each day there will be a practice highlighted: the first day - listening, the second day - witnessing, and the third day - transmitting to create a dynamic of Indigenous trajectories, resilience and relationships through the art, the community and the collective.The National Indigenous Media Arts Coalition’s (NIMAC) priority is to support, promote, and advocate for Indigenous media artists and arts organizations within the context of Canadian media arts practices. We connect Indigenous artists to not-for-profit arts organizations on a national scale.

La coalition des arts médiatiques autochtones (NIMAC) en partenariat avec l'Alliance des arts médiatiques indépendants (AAMI) est ravis d'annoncer la tenue de la conférence annuelle, du 12 au 15 juin 2018 à Saskatoon, SK. Intitulé Écouter, Observer, Transmettre proposera des tables rondes, des ateliers, des performances, des expositions et des projections.

Le colloque aura lieu au Wanuskewin Heritage Park, à approximativement 15 minutes de la ville, et à divers lieux de programmation de Saskatoon, comme Aka Artist Run Centre et Paved Arts.

Chaque jour il y aura une pratique mise en valeur : le premier jour - l'écoute, le deuxième jour - l'observation, et le troisième jour - la transmission pour créer une dynamique de trajectoires autochtones, la résilience et les relations à travers l'art, la communauté et le collectif.
