Join us for a night of Live Music, local art and light refreshments.
We will feature live music followed by an interactive Beginner Ukulele Workshop. There is no experience necessary to participate and all materials wil be provided.

About the Workshop

Ready to strum your first chords? Join us for a fun and friendly Beginner Ukulele Workshop! Perfect for absolute beginners, you'll learn the basics and start playing your favorite tunes in no time.

Instruments and all printed materials will be provided to learners.

About the artist

Arkady has lived in Victoria since 2015. He studied guitar performance at the University of Alaska and music history at the University of Victoria. His favorite Genres include folk, jazz, bluegrass and fingerstyle. He has been teaching in Canada and abroad for over 20 years.

Arkady performs as a bassist with Victoria based East European folk band Bucan Bucan and the Horsetail Bandits Trio. Since 2015, Arkady has also performed on bass, guitar and uke-bass with various jazz bands in the Anchorage (AK) area, gypsy jazz group Swing49 and the Chad Meyer Trio.

Through his music teaching business, Sunflower Music School, (http://www.sunflowermusicschool.ca) Arkady offers private and small group instruction in ukulele, guitar, bass and piano to learners of all ages and all levels. Arkady strives to create a supportive, fun environment for learning which is tailored to students’ needs, knowledge and interests.
