Here are the requirements for the WERC Program:
This program is for people between the ages of 17 and 29 interested in kick-starting a successful career as an Interior Systems Carpenter.
We understand that everyone faces different challenges and we have designed this program to remove any barriers that might get in your way.
Our goal is to give you the best possible chance of success, so you can thrive and achieve your dreams.
- Candidates must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or refugees. The goal of this program is to have all candidates sign Training Agreements and become registered apprentices.
- Candidates must be between the ages of 17 and 29. (Exceptions have been made in the past for candidates in their early 30s.)
- All candidates must provide proof of education with a minimum of grade 10. If the candidate completed their education outside of Canada, they must provide an equivalency evaluation. WES or ICAS are two organizations that can provide the required assessment.
- Experience is not required, as this program is designed to help youth start a career in the Interior Systems trade.
