Loire and Order: Wines of the Loire Valley, France
Overview
In the Loire Valley in France, the wines are represented by separate yet equally important grapes: Chenin, Melon, and Sauvignon Blanc, which are used to make white wines; and Cabernet Franc, Grolleau, and Pinot Noir, which are used to make reds and rosés. These are their stories.
Dun-dun.
From the Atlantic coast near Nantes through to Sancerre close to the middle of France (and even further), the Loire Valley is one of the major winemaking regions of France and home to several grape varieties, both internationally renowned (hello Sauvignon Blanc) and others often relegated to play supporting roles (hello to you too, Cabernet Franc).
Tonight, join us at Metro Liquor to investigate the wines of this region, and find them guilty of being delicious.
