The West Coast Symphony Orchestra bursts to life with Huahzhi Li’s Spring Festival Overture, a joyful herald of new beginnings and vibrant traditions. The world premiere of Che Yi-Lee’s Golden Era Violin Concerto brings a unique family story to the stage, with soloists Patricia Shih, Nikita Pogrebnoy, and their son Nicholas Shih-Pogrebnoy* intertwining their musical voices in a celebration of heritage and artistry. The evening closes with Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet Suite, painting Shakespeare’s timeless drama in vivid orchestral colours. Experience a night of cultural richness, familial warmth, and stirring music to welcome the Lunar New Year.
