Making Space For Men (I)
Overview
Making Space For Men (I)
Join us for the first Montreal session of Making Space For Men, an in-person gathering founded in BC and fresh to the East. Making Space for Men was created by Jordan, a woman who decided that the current narrative about men was disempowering and often inaccurate. The overarching goals are empowerment and responsibility. Over the course of 8-10 workshops, we discuss the empowered and toxic versions of masculinity and femininity, dating, letting go of guilt, purpose, sexuality, confidence, and what it means to be a leader in the community. This is a space for men only (apart from your host)!
Your host:
Jordan and her sister were raised by a strong father figure and a feminist mother, and she felt a strong respect and kinship with the masculine from a young age. Having worked individually with men, she noticed a disconnect between the sexes, and from there emerged a desire to start larger conversations. She has background in neuroscience and music, and a strong desire to encourage freedom and growth in the people around her. She stands for truth, kindness, compassion, and the occasinal offensive joke.
Session I:
The first group will take an in depth look at both healthy and toxic patterns in the feminine and masculine, discuss how these interplay, and how we can be more aware of these in our own relationships.
We will discuss guilt - what is ours and what isn't, and how to reframe it. The goal, again, is both empowerment and responsibility.
There will be space for group discussion, as well as a half hour between 9-9:30 for folks to stay behind and chat.
There are only 24 spots available due to room size. Succesive weeks may increase slightly if demand is high, but we like to run smaller events to maintain a sense of intimacy.
Early bird: $35
Regular: $40
