Marketplace Leaders Speakers Event Feb 25 2026
Overview
The Business of You: Bringing More of Who You Are to What You Do
People do business with people they know, like, and trust. One of the most powerful ways to build these genuine relationships and uncover new opportunities is by leaning into who you already are.
Weaving together stories and insights, Peter will explore how your unique strengths, interests, experiences, and the quirks that make you memorable are the keys to connecting with people at a human level and growing your influence as a leader.
You can expect to learn how to communicate what makes you stand out, shape your work around what energizes you, and connect more meaningfully in your everyday interactions. Peter’s goal is to leave you feeling empowered to bring more of who you are to what you do—and inspired to help others do the same.
About our Speaker
Peter is a small-town guy with a big-picture approach and a passion for connecting people and ideas to build business and community.
Born and raised on a dairy farm in Abbotsford, Peter lived in Saskatchewan for nearly a decade before moving to Vancouver Island twenty years ago. He lives in Nanoose Bay with his wife, Clarice, their two homeschooled kids, Janel and Troy, and a crazy-fun dog named Rex.
Peter is a fan of early mornings, music (especially 80s rock and 90s country), and the power of a well-crafted quote. He is an active community leader, serving as vice chair of the Parksville-Qualicum Community Foundation and mentoring local youth through 100 Kids for Change and the Oceanside Junior Railroaders Club.
Professionally, Peter is a strategic advisor and facilitator working at the intersection of marketing, communications, business development, and learning. He has spent the last 18 years with MNP, where he leads the firm’s business development strategy for Vancouver Island.
He has always been fascinated by people’s unique talents and gifts. As a facilitator, he loves helping people discover their strengths, clarify their goals, and chart their own path to success.
