Mastering Anxiety and Worry Workshop Series
Overview
This workshop series is designed to help you better understand and manage your
anxiety. Each unit in this series is designed as a stand-alone meaning that you can pick
and choose which workshops you would like to attend based on your own individual
preferences and needs. Yet they are also designed to be complementary, meaning that
the more you attend the better you will understand your anxiety and how to manage it
more effectively. Whether you’re dealing with everyday stressors or more complex
feelings of anxiety and worry, this series is tailored for you.

Session #1, October 7th: Anxiety and Maladaptive Thoughts
Participants will learn to identify distortions in their thinking that contribute to anxiety. By cultivating awareness and challenging unhelpful thinking styles, participants can develop healthier coping strategies that promote emotional resilience and reduce anxiety.
Session #2, November 4th: Anxiety and the Comfort Zone
This unit focuses on the role that our individual “comfort zones” play in maintaining our anxiety. We will discuss the psychological mechanisms that keep us in our comfort zones and explore methods to gradually expand our boundaries and learn why this actually helps us to manage our anxiety more effectively in the long run. Participants will engage in exercises designed to help them embrace discomfort as a pathway to growth.
Session #3, December 9th: Anxiety and At-Risk Situation
This unit will focus on the identification of core fears that are often related to anxiety and the misguided strategies people often use to cope that actually serve to maintain anxiety. Participants will also learn how to face at-risk situations head on through the adoption of strategies such as role-playing, rehearsal, visualization, and exposure techniques which can be used to build confidence and resilience in dealing with anxiety- inducing scenarios.
