Math: Making Messes, Making Meaning and StoryWalk®️Workshop
Event Information
Description
Join me on August 30th for 2 workshops to jump start your student learning in time for the new school year!
Our Morning -
Math: Making Messes, Making Meaning
Be guided on the path to outdoor learning. With a focus on math, educators will gain a new understanding on the importance of the outdoors and participate in activities that promote math literacy geared for preschool to primary learners. You will leave with a variety of suggested activities to provoke your students, and your own thinking. Be prepared to get dirty! Meet at Pavilion 'A' by the pond.
Please bring a fully charged device for capturing photos of the morning.
Our Afternoon-
StoryWalk®!
You will go on a StoryWalk® and then proceed through the steps of creating your own StoryWalk® to use for your family, your class or your community!
You must bring 3 paper back copies of the same favourite children's read-a-loud book, ( 30 pages or less is great), an electronic device with data to learn how to create QR codes, (sorry WiFi is not available at the site), and of course a great imagination!
Don't miss this event, numbers are limited.
This event will run rain or shine, so please dress for the weather. Please pack refreshments for the day. Lunch will be provided! Meet at Pavilion 'A' by the pond!
See you in the forest!
