In the academy, collaboration usually takes two principal forms - teaching and research. Partnerships evolve from within departments/disciplines/institutions to generate new areas, simulating collaborations locally and internationally that positively impact teaching and research.
This workshop will focus on interdisciplinary partnerships that stretch across the community, industry/commerce, the public sector, and pedagogy to offer an understanding of the university environment, opportunities, and practices.
Our panelists will draw from their own experience and comment on the successes and challenges they have faced and introduce approaches and resources that have helped to enable their accomplishments. The aim of this session is to enable participants to take a more strategic view of their teaching and research, and to consider many factors, such as building trust, good communication and effective negotiation when building and advancing teaching, and creating dynamic research teams and projects.
