Métis Culture Talks: Connecting to Heritage!
Overview
Tracing and documenting our Métis family history is essential for preserving our Nation’s past, present, and future. Métis Culture Talks: Connecting to Heritage is a virtual workshop, presented by MNBC’s Ministry of Culture, Heritage and Language and The Amelia Douglas Institute, designed to help you explore your Métis genealogy.
Based on MNBC’s Connecting to Heritage research guide, this session will introduce key genealogical resources and terms, and it will provide an overview of Métis-specific archival records and historical documents and where to find them. We will also be exploring some of the practical tools and strategies that you can use to document and preserve your family’s story. Whether you’re just beginning your Métis genealogical research or looking to expand your knowledge, this workshop will offer some skills and techniques that you can use as you connect to your Métis roots!
