Mother Not Martyr: Guilt Shedding Ritual

By Bianca Hurst

Overview

A safe space for mothers to release guilt through breath, movement, and connection. Leave lighter, clearer, and free.

Release the Guilt: A Ritual for Mothers Who Carry Too Much

Your guilt isn’t proof that you’re a bad mom. It’s proof you care.

But caring so much has a cost. The late-night overthinking. The “am I doing enough?” spiral. The constant self-critique, even on the days you gave everything you had.

This ritual is your permission to put it down.

We gather in a safe, private circle where you don’t have to be “on.” No pretending everything is fine. No need to keep it together. Here, your guilt gets to be seen, heard, and finally moved out of your body.

We use movement, breath, and intentional release to clear the weight you’ve been carrying—so you can walk out feeling lighter, softer, and more connected to yourself.

You’re not broken. You’re not failing. You’re simply holding too much. And you don’t have to anymore.

THE RITUAL

This is not a performance. There’s no right way to show up here.

You’ll walk into a dimly lit space with music already playing, a room full of women just like you, tired, overwhelmed, craving release. You’ll be guided through a gentle welcome and grounding, then taken on a 45-minute somatic journey using music, movement, and emotional prompts.

Expect:

  • A safe, no-judgment space where you can express whatever’s been bubbling under the surface—anger, grief, frustration, joy, or exhaustion.
  • Curated music that builds in intensity and rhythm, moving you through a full-body emotional arc—from stillness to eruption and back to regulation.
  • Permission to scream, cry, move, shake, or collapse—whatever your body needs to do, it’s welcome here.
  • Minimal talking during the movement portion. You’ll be guided with prompts, but this is not a conversation space. It’s an embodiment space.
  • Integration time afterward, with optional sharing and space to journal, sit, sip tea, or simply be.

This is a come-as-you-are ritual. No dance experience required. No pressure to be seen or “do it right.”

You will not be pushed. You will not be analyzed. You will not be fixed.

You will be held. You will be witnessed. You will leave changed.
