Navigating Parenthood

By Akram Jomaa Islamic Centre

Overview

This workshop is designed to help parents understand the roles of families.

Join us for “Navigating Parenthood” — a workshop designed to support parents in strengthening their family relationships and confidently approaching everyday challenges.

Led by Brother Shakeel Khan, this session will guide participants through a deeper understanding of family roles—both as parents and as children—and explore how our actions, communication styles, and emotional responses shape the overall dynamics within the home.

Through a blend of psychological/counseling insights and Islamic principles, we will discuss practical ways to navigate difficult situations, resolve conflict, and foster healthier interactions. The workshop will also touch on the realities of dysfunctional family patterns, exploring their root causes, long-term effects, and strategies to function and heal within those environments.

Whether you're seeking guidance, community, or tools to enhance your parenting journey, this workshop offers a warm and supportive space for learning and reflection.

👶 Childcare will be provided — a movie will be playing for children throughout the workshop.
