Generative AI is changing many aspects of teaching and learning. The Provincial Guidelines: The Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Teaching and Learning at McMaster University - August, 2023 offer a starting point for educators to understand and respond to generative artificial intelligence in teaching and learning, including how to approach academic integrity with respect to generative AI. The Academic Integrity Policy outlines expectations of learners as it relates to academic integrity and offers instructors procedures to address offences.
This workshop will:
• Discuss capabilities and limitations of generative AI in teaching and learning, as well as considerations for responsible use.
• Provide an overview of the Academic Integrity Policy, its scope and process and how to approach instances of suspected academic misconduct with respect to generative AI use.
