What if I enjoy the lighter games and party games, is this event still for me?

Absolutely! All player levels are welcome and Changeling Gaming and Springwood Cottage Resort game experts will be on hand to help teach and introduce new games too.

What will the gaming spaces be like?

There will be designated common areas to meet up and play games. One of them being the SCR Games Rm with nearly 1000 games to choose from! In addition, the cabins have cozy living rooms and dining areas, and there will be designated 24hr gameplay areas so cabins can be a cozy quiet retreat at night.

How many folks does the retreat host?

For our winter event, our capacity is between 20-40 depending on how the cabins book.

Do I have to bring people with me in order to attend?

Accepted Answer

No, you most certainly can attend on your own. There will be plenty of opportunities and supports to help you connect with fellow attendees and find groups to dive into activities with.

Why is there an Age Recommendation?

The weekend will be geared towards board game enthusiasts, meaning there will be many more complex games being played with a variety of rules and mechanics.

Due to the nature of the terrain and time of year, participants will require ease of mobility to move about outside in rough terrain from Cabin to Cabin, climb steps into the cottages and access a second-story games room.

Parking

There is limited parking at each cabin, with overflow parking available centrally near the front entrance, around Cottage 15, and at the Marina. Spots will be designated upon arrival.

I work late on Friday, is it okay to arrive later in the evening or on Saturday?

Of course! The weekend is meant to be relaxed and customizable to your own schedule. Though note that pricing cannot be adjusted to accommodate late arrivals or early departures.

Can I arrive early or stay late past the event times?

Accepted Answer

No, check-in hrs have been chosen for safety and liability, and to support staff organizing the retreat. For these reasons, please respect the start and end times of the retreat. If you would like additional hours at the resort, you may book cabins privately before and after the retreat.

If catering is provided, should I pack snacks?

Accepted Answer

You are welcome to bring your own snacks and store them in your cabin if there are board game munchies you know you will want with you. We will also have grazing stations with light snacks, coffee, and tea available. You can also grab goodies from the Resort’s General Store during its open hours.

Is alcohol allowed?

Yes! Brews and board games is always welcome. The event is BYOB since alcohol will not be included with the drink options at the resort.

Question 12

Since Springwood is dog-friendly, can I bring my dog to the retreat?

Accepted Answer

If you have booked a private cabin with a group, you may bring a dog, but please refrain from bringing them with you to general scheduled activities during the retreat with exceptions for service dogs. If you would like to discuss bringing a dog, please reach out to changelinggaminginfo@gmail.com

Are bookings Transferable?

Yes, but subject to applicable terms and conditions and also room availability.

Cancellation & Refund Policies

Accepted Answer

You may cancel 30 days prior to the start of the event with a $125 + tax cancellation fee per participant. Cancelations thereafter will not be refundable.
