Overview
In this 90-minute workshop, Montessori educators will explore the social model of disability and how it aligns with the core principles of Montessori pedagogy to foster inclusive, supportive environments for neurodiverse students. The session will delve into practical strategies for understanding the unique needs of neurodiverse learners and creating classrooms that emphasize strengths over deficits.
Participants will be guided through setting up a tiered intervention system, allowing for individualized support while maintaining Montessori's focus on independence and self-directed learning. The workshop will also offer general interventions and classroom adaptations that educators can implement to meet the diverse needs of all students, from sensory accommodations to executive functioning aids.
