Oil Pastels for Beginners with Fiore Mitchell

Whether you’ve never picked up an oil pastel before or you want a confident place to start, this two-hour session will guide you through the essentials.

We’ll begin with a demo and hands-on practice of fundamental oil pastel techniques such as mark making, blending, layering, and how to choose surfaces that work best with the medium. After getting familiar with the tools, Fiore will lead a simple paint-along still life so you can apply your new skills right away!

Students are welcome to bring their own oil pastels, but all necessary supplies will be provided—just bring your curiosity and creativity.
